Does anyone really know what ‘Memorial’ Day means?
For me, it started when I was in England around the month of November. Everywhere you looked someone was wearing a poppy, even as a service member I had no idea what this was about and I honestly didn’t think much of it. I always thought that it was pretty cool how most of the people wore one. Hell, I thought it was just an English thing. Time went on and it always stayed in the back of my mind, I didn’t look into it until after I was already out of the Air Force and something brought it to my attention. I decided to educate myself and found that the poppy is a symbol of Remembrance Day also know as Armistice Day or Veterans Day/November 11th. The poppy was worn in memory of fallen soldiers.
